Maier Yagod, Architect, is an architecture and planning firm located in central Jerusalem. A licensed architect and urban planner, Maier Yagod holds a bachelor’s degree (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel) and an M.Arch from the University of Toronto, Canada. His work experience includes positions in Canada, the Netherlands, France and Germany. He has also engaged in small-scale “placemaking” projects, specifically, artistic-interventions in urban public spaces. In 2010, his Watership Down sculptures, erected on the grounds of the Cleveland Public Library, won First Prize in the Cleveland Ohio Urban Installation Competition.

Maier Yagod, Architect has experience in architectural planning of public buildings in areas, such as education, health and religion, as well as in private, commercial and residential construction. It is also engaged in regional development and master planning.

The firm provides consultation services with regard to urban planning procedures, building permits and general policies; preparing position papers and comparative international studies for Israeli government ministries and local municipalities, including Israel’s Central Planning Authority, the Ministry of Transportation and over eighty local municipalities.

In addition, the office conducts research projects. It publishes position papers and information, with particular emphasis on the notion of public space, parking and its impact on the built environment and the role of play areas in the city.
